We speak with actor and activist Casey Adler, John Parker, co-founder of the Harriet Tubman Center, and Lulu Hammond, co-founder of SoCal Uprising. Together, they are organizing Labor 4 Palestine: An Arms Embargo Rally and Teach-In Series, happening Saturday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Downtown Los Angeles City Hall.
The event will bring together workers, activists, and community members to demand an end to U.S. support for the war on Gaza. In Northern California, Palestinian activists are urging Oakland officials to stop military cargo flights bound for Israel, arguing the shipments have fueled airstrikes on Gaza. We’ll hear from Dina, a Bay Area native and organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement, who released a detailed report on the issue last week.
