Law & Disorder

Retail Theft Claims as Fodder for Bloating Police Budgets; State Terror Roundup; Plus Resistance in Residence Artist Adi Oasis

We start our show with our recurring segment the State Terror Roundup.
Then, we’re joined by the Executive Director of UC Berkeley’s Criminal Law & Justice Center and former District Attorney of San Francisco Chesa Boudin to discuss California’s inflated problem of retail theft and how the state is falsely using data to inflate police budgets in this area.
Continuing the conversation around retail theft, we’re then joined by Nicole Lee, executive director of the Urban Peace Movement, to discuss the scapegoating of youth of color.
This week’s Resistance in Residence Artist is French-Caribbean, singer, bandleader, and bassist, Adi Oasis, whose music brings out the sounds of vintage soul, funk and disco, with a modern vibe.
