It's Going Down

How Native Land Defenders Are Fighting a Massive Lithium Mine and Forced Evictions in Nevada

On this episode, It’s Going Down speaks with the Sugarbush Crew, a group of Native land defenders who are part of an ongoing struggle to stop the construction of a massive lithium mine, which threatens to desecrate a sacred site known as Peehee Muh’ha, or Thacker Pass. We talk about the ongoing struggle, how the mine would impact the land and ecology, and the forced evictions of Native elders from the Winnemucca Indian Colony to make room for miners.

We also hear the second part of an interview with Sleydo’ of the Gidimt’en Checkpoint about the ongoing resistance happening on Wet’suwet’en territory.
