On this episode of the It’s Going Down show, we discuss with the author of Madness, Disability and Abolition, the creation of an abolitionist approach to addressing mental health and disability. Drawing on the racist and patriarchal history of how the State has responded to what it deems mental illness, as well as looking at how it currently responds, we map out what an abolitionist framework might look like, and how such an approach is already being built in a network of projects and initiatives.
