Indigenous Groups Denounce Nebraska Approval of Keystone XL

On today’s show we’ll focus on the issue of climate change in all three of our stories. First, the Nebraska Public Services Commission just approved an alternate route for the controversial Keystone XL pipeline, just days after the original Keystone pipeline in South Dakota had a massive spill. We’ll turn to Judith LeBlanc of the Native Organizers Alliance for more. Then, Dallas Goldtooth of the Indigenous Environmental Network joins us fresh from the COP23 UN climate meeting in Bonn, Germany. He’ll explain what came out of that meeting, and discuss a new report that his group released about “carbon pricing.” Finally, we’ll explore author Todd Miller’s new book called Storming The Wall: Climate Change, Migration, and Homeland Security.
