Raj Jayadev is the director of Silicon Valley De-Bug, a community organization based in San Jose that leads campaigns around criminal justice reform, immigrants rights, and economic justice. The organization created a model for families and communities to impact the outcome of the cases of their loved ones and transform the landscape of power in the courts. It is called “participatory defense” and De-Bug is training communities nationally in the approach.

Galvis draws upon his experience and indigenous roots to help young people, particularly those involved in the criminal justice system, become future community leaders. and it’s been only a couple of weeks since returning from Standing Rock.
