Bail Reform and The Battle to Save Public Education

Raj Jayadev is the director of Silicon Valley De-Bug, a community organization based in San Jose that leads campaigns around criminal justice reform, immigrants rights, and economic justice. The organization created a model for families and communities to impact the outcome of the cases of their loved ones and transform the landscape of power in the courts. It is called “participatory defense” and De-Bug is training communities nationally in the approach. In the second half of Hard Knock, we look at the ongoing battle to save City College of San Francisco. We speak with Professor Abdul Jabbar and student, Win Mon Kyi.
