Tune out with special guests DOUG LYNNER and KANOKO NISHI-SMITH for iteration 38 of FREQUENCY MODULATION RADIO.

DOUG LYNNER performs, composes and records using vintage and contemporary analog modular synthesizers, digital and virtual synthesizers and traditional instruments. Of special note is Doug’s Mystery Serge, an amazingly versatile analog modular synthesizer designed by West Coast synthesizer pioneer, Serge Tcherepnin. Lynner explores the intrinsic value of sound through mixtures of ambient, avant garde, rhythmic and soundscape genres.

KANOKO NISHI-SMITH is a classically trained performer based in SF/Bay Area. Her recent interest has primarily been in performing 20th century and contemporary musical compositions for piano as well as for koto, and free-improvisation in various different contexts, with musicians, as well as dancers, poets, and visual artists.

Listen in for live in-studio Freq Mod Mixes in solo and ensemble formats.

Hosted by Thomas Dimuzio 2nd and 5th Sundays.
