Brian Hofer, Chair of Oakland’s Privacy Advisory Commission, and 7 other oakland residents filed an internal affairs complaint against OPD Chief Anne Kirkpatrick for false statements made about an August 16th ICE raid. We hear from Hofer this morning about the details of the complaint and the ICE raid in question. Afterwards, in light of the Saudi blockade in Yemen, the closure of airports, and the halting of aid distribution, we speak with Ali Al-Ahmed, Saudi scholar and expert on Saudi political affairs and director of the Institute for Gulf Affairs. We also speak with Shireen Al-Adeimi, Yemeni-Canadian-American doctoral candidate at Harvard University whose family and friends are inside Yemen. Finally we listen to and interview between Brian Edwards-Tiekert and Margaret Randall about her latest book entitled Exporting Revolution: Cuba’s Global Solidarity.
