40 years after the first publication of the feminist book “This Bridge Called My Back” contributors reflect on the books impact in their own lives and in the world.
From the introduction to the 1981 book: “We see this book as a revolutionary tool falling into the hands of people of all colors. Just as we have been radicalized in the process of compiling this work, we hope it will radicalize others into action. We want this book in libraries, bookstores, at conference and union meetings, in every major city and hole-in the-wall in this country. And, of course, we hope to one day, see the work translated and leave this country, making tangible the link between Third World Women in the U.S. and throughout the world.”
