APEX Express

APEX Express – 1.27.2022 – Fight for Phi Pham by Asian Prisoner Support Committee (APSC)

APEX Express is a weekly magazine-style radio show featuring the voices and stories of Asians and Pacific Islanders from all corners of our community. The show is produced by a collective of media makers, deejays, and activists.

AACRE Thursday Host Paige Chung speaks to Ny Nourn and John Lam from the Asian Prisoner Support Committee to discuss the fight for Phi Pham, a formerly incarcerated firefighter who is facing risk of deportation. Ny Nourn is the co-director at APSC and John Lam is the program coordinator at APSC, both of whom were formerly incarcerated. Learn about Phi Pham’s story in this episode.

UPDATE:

With the unconditional support of community members and advocates, Phi has been released from Aurora ICE Detention Facility. You can continue to support Phi by donating to his reentry and freedom fund. Venmo Cindy Pham, Phi’s sister at @cindy_pham. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Phi as he adjusts to his new life outside of prison and ICE detention walls. We are so incredibly happy and in deep gratitude to everyone that has supported Phi’s freedom. From calling ICE, calling the Governor’s Office, emailing, posting on social media, and sharing his story – THANK YOU.
