3/15/21 Overcoming Insomnia and Finding a Good Night’s Sleep

March 14th marked the beginning of National Sleep Awareness Week. It’s cleverly and appropriately timed to begin right after we “sprang forward” by changing our clocks to daylight savings time. If you’re like many people, you may resent losing an hour of sleep every March. But, millions of people with sleep disorders like insomnia lose hours of sleep every night. Insomnia (at least in its milder forms) is a problem that somewhere between 30 and 50 percent of Americans struggle with at some point in their lives. It can leave us feeling exhausted, frustrated, and stressed out. And, it appears to have gotten worse in the midst of COVID. So, in this episode, we’ll talk about insomnia: what it is, what causes it, and how to find a good night’s sleep. Host David B. Feldman interviews Dr. Colleen Ehrnstrom, psychologist and co-author of End the Insomnia Struggle: A Step-by-Step Guide to Help You Get to Sleep and Stay Asleep.
