1/22/24 Setting Healthy Boundaries

Have you ever had a friend who seemed to drain all your emotional energy? Or perhaps a family member who was always in your business, trying to tell you how to live your life? It’s an inevitable part of many relationships: There will be times—even with the people we love most—when it’s important to set limits, ask for what we need, or give feedback about what’s not working for us. But these limits, sometimes called “boundaries,” can be challenging and awkward to set. So, this hour, we’ll talk about why it’s not only okay but sometimes necessary to set boundaries in relationships, and how doing so can strengthen our connections. Host David B. Feldman speaks with Juliane Taylor Shore, psychotherapist and author of the new book, Setting Boundaries That Stick.
