California State Prison Hunger Special by Producer/Host JR Valrey – August 11, 2013

 In part 2 of this 2 part series by Host/Producer JR Valrey,  Danny Murillo, a former California State Prisoner, describes, in riveting detail, his 14 years of incarceration including 6 years in the SHU.

Mary Ratcliff, Editor-in-Chief of the San Francisco Bay view Newspaper, discusses her publication’s pivotal role in aiding prisoners and the organization of the hunger strike.

Leslie Phillips, former Black Panther and co-Founder of the People’s Community Medics, underscores, what she believes is California Governor Jerry Brown’s indifference to the plight of the hunger strikers made apparent by his refusal to discuss the issue.

Finally, Journalist Adam Hudson reports on conditions at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba including the torture of prisoners and a hunger strike  which began 6 months ago.
