House Republicans today passed a budget resolution to temporarily suspend the debt limit and to prohibit lawmakers from receiving pay if a budget is not adopted. Today we talk about the history of the federal budget with Mattea Kramer, author of the book A People’s Guide to the Federal Budget.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, perhaps for the last time, is testifying on Capitol Hill today about the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi last September. We have excerpts from the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee hearing and we spoke to award winning journalist Michael Hastings–he broke the story that lead to the resignation of General Stanley McChrystal.
