Journalist Marc Fisher joins Peter in the first hour of the show from his Washington, DC office. Fisher is a Washington Post columnist and author of the radio history Something’s in the Air. Listeners join the two of them to express opinions about the medium.

In the second hour of the show, author and journalism professor Mark Danner and Peter discuss commencement speeches. Danner gave the 2007 speech – "Words in a Time of War" – to graduates of the UC Berkeley Rhetoric Department.
