Special Broadcast

Early Morning Music (Monday) – August 18, 2008

During the first hour, on Early Morning Jazz, Veronica Faisant is serving up a variety of jazz thanks to a compilation by Peja. In the second hour, on Early Morning Music, Safi wa Nairobi plays some of the classic tunes of Isaac Hayes, such as Soulsville, The Theme From Shaft, Bumpy’s Blues and Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic. You will also hear some of the less familiar—but equally incredible–music of Isaac Hayes, including Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Pursuit of the Pimpmobile, If We Ever Needed Peace, Cebu and Going in Circles. There will also be a few snippets from a 1994 interview with Mr. Hayes (courtesy of National Public Radio) and a 2004 interview of Mr. Hayes by Tavis Smiley.

That’s Monday the 18th on Early Morning Jazz (4am) and Early Morning Music (5am).
