During the first hour, Early Morning Jazz presents interviews with some of the performers scheduled to appear at the 19th annual San Jose Festival, happening the 8th through 10th of August in Downtown San Jose. Hear excerpts from interviews with soul jazz piano player and vocalist Les McCann; drummer John Densmore, formerly with The Doors; Arturo Riera, Mr. Latin Jazz and San Jose Jazz Board Chair; and Geoff Roach, CEO of San Jose Jazz.

In the second hour, Early Morning Music presents part two of the series, Bay Area Treasures, featuring composer, pianist, vocalist and educator, Lady Bianca. Bay Area Treasures is the brainchild of the Groovemeister, Ken Pruitt, regular host of Early Morning Music; this segment is guest-hosted and produced by Safi wa Nairobi.
