Congressman John Conyers and his sixteen Democratic colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee will hold an emergency, unofficial hearing into the Bush Administrations controversial warrantless surveillance program.
Among the expected witnesses are:
Professor Jonathan Turley, Georgetown University Law School
Bruce Fein, former Reagan administration deputy attorney general
Jeff Smith, former CIA general counsel
Caroline Frederickson, ACLU
Among the Congress members expected to be present, and addressing the issue, are
Bobby Scott (VA), Chris Van Hollen (MD), Maxine Waters (CA), Adam Schiff (CA), Maurice Hinchey (NY) and Jerrold Nadler (NY).
