Women’s Magazine – October 3, 2005

podcast

Theme: media and film.

On today’s show we will be looking at examples of women’s use of media technology to produce innovative and experimental work. From Berkeley’s Digital Story telling center, we will hear about the possibilities for healing survivors of violence, through the medium of digital storytelling. We will then take a close look at the 9th annual Madcat women’s international film festival and how women filmmakers are inventing themselves on camera. The festival is happening at the Pacific Film Archives in Berkeley this week and next. We will then move to a tribute of a remarkable woman, Dr. Barbara Cannon, and wind up the show with the community calendar.
