It is on this night that Marie Laveau , the great 19th century pragmatic
mystic social change artist returns to New Orleans to dance again,
and we, by radio proxy with her. Caroline is joined once again by Martha Ward, biographer of Marie Laveau, (Voodoo Queen: The Spirited Lives of Marie Laveau)
(Martha and Caroline will then head out to the Bayou St. John for the most
living ceremony New Orleans has going, complete with head-washing, lead by
contemporary mambo, Sallie Ann Glassman. Not a moment too soon. How
