Another day of arguments about same sex marriage in a San Francisco
courtroom ….opponents of the unions argue that California’s marriage laws
do not discriminate against gays and lesbians because the purpose of
matrimony is to produce children and same sex couples can’t do that….

Palestinian voters overwhelm polling stations in the west bank as there’s
heavy participation in the first local elections in nearly 30
years. ….it’s a dry run for presidential elections next month

Under a thousand Iraqi residents of Fallujah return home and most say they
won’t stay in the devastated city because of continued fighting
there.. meanwhile the U.S. military says the suicide bomber who struck a U.S.
military base earlier this week was probably wearing an Iraq military
uniform

Environmentalists alarmed as the Bush administration overhauls the rules
governing management of the country’s national forests

The recount in the state of Washington is over and Democrat Christine
Gregoire wins the governor’s race by 130 votes

Workers at the Jewish Home for the Aged in San Francisco cancel a five
day strike planned for this Christmas weekend
