KPFA Special Broadcast – November 2, 2004

Travel with FSRN across the country from 7-8p.m. pacific on kpfa November 2, hearing live reports from the swing state polls in critical precincts. Get the results of closely contested congressional races and battleground states where third party candidates could make a significant difference. Listen to analysis from community organizers and leaders of under-represented constituencies. Then, cross to Iraq, Gaza, Venezuela and other countries for live reports of foreign reaction to the U.S. results.

Reports will include (but certainly won’t be limited to) Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, California, Hawaii, Ramallah, Baghdad, London, Germany, and Mexico City. Look at local results through the lens of community stations like KGNU-Boulder, KPFT-Houston, WMNF-Tampa, WORT-Madison and WVJW in Benwood, West Virginia. Hear the thoughts of Green Party Candidate, David Cobb, and Independent Candidate, Ralph Nader, as the votes are counted.

The coverage will be anchored by FSRN’s Deepa Fernandes & Mitch Jeserich at WBAI in NY with Nell Abram at WMNF in Tampa, and Monica Lopez at KPFK in Los Angeles. National Pacifica News Hound, Larry Bensky will anchor the headlines twice an hour.

Special guests include Bev Harris of Blackboxvoting.org, investigative reporter, Greg Palast, Jorge Mursuli of Mi Familia Vota; Hon. Mary Rose Oakar, President. of the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee, Isabel Garcia of the Arizona Human Rights Coalition, and Glen Ford from The Black Commentator.
