Zoe Quinn was an independent game developer with an abusive ex. He went to the dark corners of the internet and convinced a small army of trolls that (sexism alert) she’d only succeeded by sleeping with a reviewer. In short order, people we now know as the alt right methodically set out to do everything possible to destroy her life–and she fought back. Her book, Crash Override, looks at the role of everything from the courts to the social platforms in making the hell she went through possible — and what to do about it.
