Keyboardist Dr. Bernie Worrell was one of the greatest living musicians. A child prodigy, the Plainfield New Jersey born genius trained at Juilliard and the New England Conservatory of Music. He is the mastermind behind nearly every song by George Clinton’s Parliament / Funkadelic, and Worrell has a distinguished track record playing everything from industrial, classical, new wave, hip hop, avant garde jazz, afro-beat and many others. He passed away on June 24th. His final recordings were with Khu.eex, an all star band that explores Funk/Jazz/Experimental interpretations of Alaskan Native living traditional culture with spoken word, storytelling, and beat poetry.
