Theme: Womens Studies.
Todays show will feature two different talks presented at the 27th National Womens Studies Association Conference held in Oakland last week. The theme of this years conference was Locating Womens Studies: Formations of Power and Resistance and looked at mothering as resistance, aspects of empire building and globalization, race theory and feminist science studies.
We will hear a talk by Andy Smith assistant professor of Native American Studies at the University of Michigan on Native Women and gender,,and a talk by Gwendolyn Mink, professor of Womens Studies at Smith College, on welfare reform.
