Raised in a passion play, as she once noted on St. Patrick’s Day many years ago, Jennifer Stone’s higher education was Bay Area-centric, SF State and Mills College. She has been an actress; her essay collection, Stone’s Throw, won the Before Columbus American Book Award. In one essay, she quoted Margaret Sanger, Henry Hyde, Anais Nin, Sigmund Freud, the Bible, Henrik Ibsen, Emily Bronte, Schopenhauer and Adolf Hitler, among others. Jennifer Stone has exceeded her own expectations.
Besides Stone’s Throw, her other books include Over by the Caves, Telegraph Avenue Then and Mind Over Media: Essays on Film and Television.
