Renowned radio DJ Luis Medina has broadcast Salsa, Afro-Cuban, Latin Jazz and World music for four decades. His program “Con Sabor” reflects his impeccable taste, encyclopedic knowledge of music history and uncanny ability to stay fresh with current musical trends. He brought those skills, leadership and passion into his role as KPFA’s Music Director from 2001 to 2014. He was also Entertainment Director for huge festivals such as Carnaval San Francisco and an in-demand Master of Ceremonies who has presented international stars such as Celia Cruz and Ruben Blades. He’s a popular club DJ who has enjoyed long time residencies at San Francisco Bay Area’s legendary hot spots including Jelly’s Dance Cafe and Cafe Cocomo.
