Betty Beasley

Betty was born and raised in the Bay Area, soaking in KFRC, KYA, KDIA, KSOL, and of course, KPFA. After a long stint in grad school studying Irish literature, she joined the KPFA Apprenticeship program and graduated in 1995, intending to produce radio documentaries. She hosted First Light for a number of years, board-opped for the KPFA Evening News, produced a book show for Cover to Cover, then went on to sub for many different KPFA music programs over the next 20 years. In 2021, she took over the Weds 10pm time spot from Larry Kelp, and is now excited to begin a new chapter, following the Bonnie Simmons Show on Thursday evenings.
