Against the Grain is an award-winning radio and web media project that provides in-depth analysis and commentary on a variety of matters—political, economic, social, and cultural—important to progressive and radical thinking and activism.
ATG focuses on meaty theoretical and action-oriented issues that the mainstream media tends to ignore, matters like political economy, social movement history, philosophical and cultural ideas, and race and gender relations. About the host:
Radio broadcaster and writer Sasha Lilley is host and producer of Against the Grain, which she co-founded with C. S. Soong in 2003. During her stint as KPFA’s Program Director, she headed up initiatives like Pacifica Radio’s award-winning Winter Soldier broadcast. She’s the author of Capital and Its Discontents: Conversations with Radical Thinkers in a Time of Tumult and is the editor of the political economy imprint Spectre. Sasha is co-author of Catastrophism: The Apocalyptic Politics of Collapse and Rebirth.
