On Tuesday November 9th, We break away from our regular broadcast to help raise funds for the historic Pacifica Radio Archives, which holds the 60,000 tape history of Pacifica Radio going back to 1949.
The Pacifica Radio Archives collection is considered by many to be the greatest and most comprehensive Community Radio audio collection in the World. Every donation you make helps restore another audio recording of the Legends from our communities who have challenged our imaginations, inspired Movements and have themselves fought tirelessly for Peace, Equality and Justice for all.
This drive contains unique Pacifica recordings with the legends of these movements like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Bob Dylan, Cesar Chavez Dolores Huerta, Malcolm X, James Baldwin, Allen Ginsberg, Alan Watts, Fannie Lou Hamer, John Coltrane, Langston Hughes, Leonard Cohen, Maya Angelou and so many others whose Voices have Changed the World. Tune in and support this effort so that Pacifica’s Historic Recordings are safe and available to future generations.
