Los Cenzontles (The Mockingbirds), the celebrated community cultural arts academy, media production company and performing ensemble, celebrates its 25th anniversary with an Family Barbecue Benefit.

Los Cenzontles Cultural Arts Academy, a non-profit organization, has trained thousands of neighborhood children in the cultural arts. Its performing group Los Cenzontles has recorded 23 cultural albums and hundreds of videos. The group has also traveled throughout the U.S. and Mexico as well as to Europe and the Caribbean. They have collaborated with numerous traditional artists as well as renowned musicians including Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Los Lobos, Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal and The Chieftains. But their proudest accomplishments are the young people at their center who are making profound community change through culture. We invite the public to help us celebrate by attending the Family Barbecue Benefit on Saturday, May 30 from 3 to 7 PM. Founded and led by Grammy nominated producer and US Artist Oliver Fellow Eugene Rodriguez, Los Cenzontles (pronounced los senn-sont-less) is staffed by local young people who were trained at the Academy working to amplify their Mexican roots to guide youth and build a stronger community.
