KPFA and Pacifica will air a 15-hour marathon broadcast of a reading of George Orwell's novel 1984.

George Orwell’s novel 1984 was written as a warning. He would be shocked to know that many of his fictional horrors are being realized today.

 

KPFA and Pacifica will air a 15-hour marathon broadcast of 1984 on Tuesday June 27th, for the first time since the original broadcast in 1975.

 

The classic cover-to-cover reading is by blacklisted writer Charles Morgan and legendary voiceover artist June Foray.

 

Join us, Tuesday June 27th, beginning at 6am for an all day national broadcast of George Orwell’s, 1984. Support us as we continue to inform and illustrate the beauty of our community through this performance on 94.1 FM, KPFA.

  1. Is KPFA in trouble? Have they suspended their program for lack of funds or other legal issues? I am alarmed. Playing 1984 seems ominous if further explanations are not provided.
