0:35 – Kaiser returned to the bargaining table yesterday, but their mental health workers, unionized under NUHW continue to strike. Kimberly Hollingsworth Hornor, a Kaiser LMFT in Fresno and a member of the NUHW IBHS bargaining committee joins us on the phone on her way to the picket line.

0:41Sharon Sobotta has been spending time talking with Kaiser mental health care workers on the picket lines, and one of the people she came across picketing was a patient. Laura Bramble says since she can’t see her therapist or get a call back from Kaiser, she’s planning to stay on the picket lines along with the therapists until there’s resolution.

0:46 – Studies have shown increases in demand for mental health services among college students in recent years. And the pandemic has also led to a sharp increase in students dealing with mental health issues. KPFA reporter Callie Fausey filed this report.
