Officer Acquitted of Shooting Philando Castile

On today’s show, hosts Cat Brooks and Mitch Jeserich talk with journalist John Hamilton about Minnesota courts’ decision to acquit Jeronimo Yanez, the officer who shot and killed African American man Philando Castile last year, from second-degree manslaughter. Hamilton was present at the protests which ensued in Minnesota this weekend.

Then Brooks and Jeserich interview Mavis Anderson, Senior Associate at the Latin American Working Group, about the speech Trump made in Miami on Friday which rolled back some of Obama’s changes to U,S-Cuba policy.

Finally our hosts discuss Uber’s upcoming move into the Sears building in Uptown Oakland. They talk with Orson Aguilar, president of the Greenlining Institute, which is part of “No Uber Oakland,” a coalition of multiple community groups working to stop the move.
