A police-eye view . . . of the problems with police

We tackle two major police scandals in San Francisco – deputies accused of staging gladiator-style fights in the jails, and SFPD officers exchanging white supremacist text messages on the street. We’ll take a look inside those two departments with Yulanda Williams of Officers for Justice, and San Francisco Sherriff Ross Mirkarimi. Plus a look at Chicago’s mayoral election, where a community/labor coalition is trying to unseat Rahm Emanuel.

Guests on this program:

Yulanda Williams, SFPD Patrol Sergeant, President of Officers for Justice

Ross Mirkarimi, Sherriff of San Francisco

Micah Uetricht, Associate Editor of In These Times magazine, contributing editor at Jacobin, author of Strike for America: Chicago Teachers Against Austerity.
