Guest host Max Pringle speaks with British journalist and author Martin Shipton about his new book “Mr. Jones: the Man Who Knew Too Much. the Life and Death of Gareth Jones.”  The book explores the all too short life of the 20th Century Welsh journalist Gareth Jones who, in the early 1930s, exposed the Holodomor famine in the Ukraine that killed an estimated 4 million people.

Then, Consumer Watchdog’s President Jamie Court discusses the California Energy Commission’s consideration of a Windfall Profits Tax on big oil. Court argues that the evidence is in that the oil industry has been gouging consumers at the pump.

Finally, the Violence Policy Center’s Josh Sugarman talks about the gun violence issue and how citizens can pressure their representatives to pass sane commonsense gun regulations that could save lives.
