In the wake of US airstrikes against Syrian government targets there have been protests and well-deserved criticism of the Trump administration, as well as denial of the crimes of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad. On our show today we’ll turn to a Syrian author and journalist based in the UK who has closely been following the war in his homeland, and who brings a fact-based progressive perspective to the complex issue. Then, as part of our series Rising Up in the Streets, we’ll turn to our correspondent Nic Cha Kim for a report from the 2nd annual March for Science in Los Angeles. Finally, co-founder and co-editor of The American Prospect, Robert Kuttner joins us to discuss his new book, Can Democracy Survive Global Capitalism? .
