Then, we speak with Walter Riley, a Civil Rights lawyer and activist and chair of the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund, along with Pierre Labosiere, founder of the Haiti Action Committee, to discuss the current situation in Haiti as well as a local event this Saturday featuring Madam Mildred Aristide, former First Lady of Haiti, taking place at the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland, 2619 Broadway, in Oakland.
Then, to Florida, where Yolna “Yo-yo” Lubrin was found hanging from a tree in what authorities say is a suicide, while family members say is a racially-motivated attack. We speak with Yolna’s sister, Naomi Lubrin.
This week’s Resistance in Residence Artist is multi-disciplinary artist, actress, poet, scholar and daughter of California, Mimi Tempestt.
