Then, in an open air prison for migrants near San Diego at the US-Mexico border, migrants find themselves detained and forced to try to survive the elements as their population has doubled in just three months. Joining us to discuss is Melissa Gomez, a Metro reporter for the Los Angeles Times, whose latest reporting addresses treatment of migrants by US border patrol near San Diego at the US-Mexico border.
