Thangs Taken: Rethinking Thanksgiving & Undoing Colonialism; Plus Resistance in Residence Artist 676 Sueños

On today’s show we hear audio from Thangs Taken: Rethinking Thanksgiving, an annual event at La Peña cultural center which took place on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, whose purpose is to challenge the colonial narrative of the Thanksgiving holiday and to honor indigenous artists, activists, organizers and cultural workers. We’ll hear the voices of Morning Star Gali, Xiomara Chingara, Chris Wanis, Desirae Harp, Vick Montana and Deja Gould.

This week’s Resistance in Residence artist is a duo from the youth organizing group 67 Sueños.
