Suspending the Federal Debt Ceiling; Plus – It’s Grad Season!

President Joe Biden signed a bill over the weekend that suspends the US government’s $31.4 trillion debt ceiling with a package he says prevents the financial sky from falling but progressive democrats say weight of the plan falls heavily on the shoulders of americas most vulnerable populations and the planet. We are joined by John Nichols, National Affairs Correspondent for the Nation, who has been focused on the debt ceiling conversation – his latest piece is Here’s Why Principled Progressives Opposed a Cruel and Destructive Debt Ceiling Deal. Read it here: https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/progressives-debt-ceiling-deal/

Then – it’s graduation season, and so we spend the next segment of our show answering your questions about how best to support your kids in this next phase of their lives. We are joined by Wendy Snyder, a college and career counselor at the Oakland School of the Arts, where she monitors student progress and works closely in the college application process with students and families as they approach graduation. The resources mentioned by Wendy are listed below our final segment here.
