We speak with Melissa Nold who is a civil rights attorney in Vallejo, CA and attorney-owner of Nold Law. She is focused on police reform at the state and local level and advocates for victims of police brutality in and outside of the courtroom.
Next we’ll speak with Jennifer Leong, the older sister of Laudemer Arboleda, un unarmed Contra Costa man who was killed by police in 2018. The former Contra Costa officer who was responsible for his death and also another county resident is petitioning for early parole.

After the Supreme Court recently ruled that school systems are, for now, required to offer parents an “opt-out” option allowing their children to be excused from class when the course material conflicts with their religious beliefs, our Resistance in Residence artists this week are children’s book authors Sarah and Ian Hoffman. Sarah and Ian are the authors of Jacob’s Missing Book, a kid-friendly story about book banning, censorship, and LGBTQ+ rights.
