National Guard Shooting in DC Reactions; Homelessness Law Center on Utah Forced Labor Camp

On today’s show, we’ll speak with Jamal Abdi, the president of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) on the Trump administration’s plans to “rigorously reexamine” the status of every green card holder from nineteen nations, including Iran, and to allow for “negative, country-specific factors to be considered when vetting” nationals of those same nations applying for adjustment of immigration status. We’ll also speak with Jesse Rabinowitz from the National Homelessness Law Center on the Trump Administration’s alarming plan build a massive facility in Utah that critics warn will function as an “internment camp” where the unhoused will be subject to forced labor.

Our Resistance in Residence Artist this week is writer/actor Wayne Harris.  He is the creator of the solo show Drapetomania, reclaiming a 19th-century pseudoscientific term once used to pathologize enslaved people’s desire for freedom.
