Hunger strikers protest inhumane conditions at the Mesa Verde ICE detention facility; plus Black August educational w/ Kalonji Jama Changa

On todays show – the state terror round up and then updates on a detainee hunger strike at the Mesa Verde ICE Detention facility near Bakersfield with Oliver Ma is a legal fellow at the ACLU of Southern California working on immigrant rights. He is supporting the hunger strikers as part of the legal subcommittee.

Dilmer Mendez who is on hunger strike and has been detained at Golden State Annex ICE detention center in McFarland, CA for about 7 months. Dilmer has experienced inhumane living conditions and retaliation for speaking out about unjust treatment. 

Then Black August educational with Kalonji Jama Changa, an organizer, founder of the FTP Movement, and the co-chair of the Urban Survival and Preparedness Institute and co-founder of Black Power Media. 

This week’s Resistance in Residence artist is dancer, choreographer, pilates instructor and founder and director of Grown Women Dance Tonya Marie Amos.
