As evidence of planetary warming from fossil fuel consumption continues to pile up around us, newly unearthed documents show that just like Exxon, Shell has known about climate change and its contribution to it for decades and worked to hide the knowledge. On our show today we’ll speak with Cassady Craighill of Greenpeace about the documents. Then, we’ll spend the rest of the hour sharing an in-person interview with Anthony Ray Hinton. The Alabama native spent nearly 30 years on death row for crimes he did not commit and finally won his release in 2015. Hinton has written a remarkable book about his experiences and about racism in the criminal justice system called The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row.
Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
