A massive protest of Gaza’s residents near the border with Israel last Friday ended in blood and death. At least 15 people were killed and more than 700 injured. On our show today Amani Al Hindi Barakat Chair of Al-Awda Palestine Right to Return Coalition will join us to explain what happened and what comes next. Then, Mark Hertsgaard, investigative editor at large of The Nation magazine will share his disturbing findings about how the cell phone industry has worked for decades to suppress research, linking cancer to cell phone usage. Finally we’ll go to Brussels to speak with an award winning author and public intellectual David Van Reybrouck about his new book Against Elections. Contrary to how it sounds, the book is actually about strengthening democracy using a powerful alternative to elections. Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
