On today’s episode of Hard Knock Radio, we present to you the film, Al-Nakba: The Palestinian Catastrophe 1948. A series on the Palestinian ‘catastrophe’ of 1948 that led to dispossession and conflict that still endures. “The Nakba did not begin in 1948. Its origins lie over two centuries ago….”

So begins this four-part series on the ‘nakba’, which literally translates as ‘catastrophe’, it refers to the mass exodus of at least 750,000 Arabs from Palestine. Though most believe this event began in 1948, in fact, Al Nakba began decades earlier. The history of the Palestinian exodus that led to the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948, and the establishment of the state of Israel.
