Hello Lovers and Friends I had to flip the script for a second. First off it is a huge honor to have Michael Marshall aka Mike Meezy bless ‘Don’t disturb this Groove’ I’ve grown up singing along to his voice from the 80s classic Rumors by the timex social club, hearing his influence in numerous popular songs, to screaming along to the I got 5 on it remix at the black Saturdays, concerts and decades later at the club. He has a long history of vocals! Numerous solo albums, collaborations with a lot of my favorite bay rap legends, and extended plays. This segment for him is my version of giving him his flowers while he’s still here. After hearing his story in the music game and how it affected his life, it brought me to tears. So many of us can relate whether we experienced the street life first hand or grew up amongst the family that was dealt a bad hand. What I love about these bay rappers is that we love an OG on the track! Their sound just speaks to us, so thank you Mike Meezy for your awesome talent and the influence you have bestowed upon us. I hope you know you are loved and I am so happy to know you are still out here creating and making music. Peace
Wallah I appreciate you so much, and you know you’re right although I am sharing my own weekly playlists , it’s just a whole other sound that we are experiencing through these electromagnetic radio waves. I also like the fact that I get to play artists that may get any play on the radio that deserve to be heard.
