Matti Friedman, author of the memoir Pumpkinflowers, is interviewed by Richard Wolinsky. Pumpkinflowers is the story of an Israeli outpost, nicknamed “The Pumpkin,” near the Lebanese border during the now-forgotten war between Lebanon and Israel in the mid to late 1990s. Friedman talks about his own experiences, as well as the experiences of other soldiers, taking it out of the context of the current Israeli political situation.
